Rocket Farms, headquartered in Salinas, Calif., has been awarded Minority Business Enterprise certification by the Northern California Minority Supplier Development Council. To receive the certification a company must be 51% ethnic-minority owned, operated and controlled by a U.S. citizen.
Rocket Farms owners Sergio Silva, president, and Charles Kosmont, CEO, have been with the business since the parent company’s inception in 1982. The VeriFlora-certified company operates 5.5 million sq. ft. of greenhouses, including 40 acres of organic-certified production. Its major crops are orchids, poinsettias, culinary herbs and vegetable plants.
