Royal Brinkman and Kam’s Growers Supply Inc. have joined forces to grow their businesses and offer a combined portfolio of products and services to the North American horticultural sector. Effective as of today, Kam’s will be part of the Royal Brinkman Group. The acquisition is part of the growth strategies of both organizations and is fueled by the increasing scale of the horticulture market in North America.
Royal Brinkman's strategy is to have stock and a strong local presence in the most important horticultural countries in the world. Kam's has the capacity and drive to strengthen its market position with a broader product and service package and solutions that improve grower profitability.
Royal Brinkman and Kam's have been working together for several years and the acquisition marks the start of a new phase. "Like Royal Brinkman, Kam's is a family business with employees who care about customers and their crops," says Ton van Mil, CEO of Royal Brinkman. "Kam's distinguishes itself with excellent customer service, products and solutions that improve grower profitability and sees this rewarded by the strong customer confidence. This aligns seamlessly with what Royal Brinkman stands for. This acquisition is a perfect example of our philosophy ‘Let’s improve together.’"
"With the massive scale and hi-tech sophistication of North American growers, partnering with Royal Brinkman is the perfect match for us to meet the evolving demands for international horticultural technology," says Kameron Fordyce, president of Kam's Growers Supply. "Joining forces with a global horticultural power house like Royal Brinkman brings over 135 years of horticultural experience and a broad new product line that will create a platform of stable growth for the future."
Kam's Growers Supply, with its 20 employees, will continue business under the Kam’s name from the same two locations in Ontario and British Columbia, Canada. Kam’s customers can continue to count on honest advice, quality products, competitive prices and the reliable, prompt service that customers have come to expect from Kam’s. Kameron and Julie Fordyce will continue to manage the business with the same team of sales, agronomy, office, warehouse and logistics staff.
Partnering with an international organization such as Royal Brinkman will give Kam’s access to an expanded product range and resources that will benefit both small and large growers in North America. Royal Brinkman can quickly scale-up business by adding to the bricks and mortar of Kam’s and building on their strong foothold in key markets. Collectively, both companies can realize their ambitions for growth and offer North American growers an enhanced supply of quality products and service.
