Sakata Seed America announced the formation of an alliance with European substrate producer Floragard Vertriebs for exclusive distribution of substrates throughout North America. The alliance will be branded under Sakata Solutions in the NAFTA region and offer a variety of premium Baltic substrate blends.
This alliance between Sakata Seed America and Floragard Vertriebs allows Sakata Seed America to extend its genetics portfolio and provide growing solutions to its customers through distribution of Baltic peat moss. The substrate product offerings are designed specifically for North American growers.
“We’re excited to be entering into a strategic alliance with Floragard. By working together and making the most of our collective agricultural and horticultural expertise, we will be able to serve our customers even better, further improving choice, quality and value,” said Dave Armstrong, president of Sakata Seed America.
In addition to his current role as head of the ornamental division, Joe Cimino will lead this new initiative reporting directly to Armstrong.
