SATO Corp. is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Established in 1940 to manufacture and sell packaging machinery, SATO changed directions by introducing one of the first hand-held labelers in 1962 and established operations as an international supplier of labeling machinery. In 1987, SATO developed the world’s first thermal transfer barcode printers. Today, SATO remains at the forefront of thermal printing technologies.
