Silver Vase in Homestead, Fla., is making the Blue Mystique orchid available in California through a strategic partnership with Westerlay Orchids in Carpinteria, Calif. Providing the blue orchid in California is a natural extension of Westerlay’s current business.
“At Westerlay Orchids we are always trying new ideas—from innovative growing practices to introducing new orchids to our customers,” said Westerlay marketing manager Nicole Woolley. “Working with Silver Vase is the perfect partnership because our core beliefs are the same—quality, quality, quality.”
Annually the two companies will bring to market more than 6 million orchids total, collaborating with Dutch breeder Floricultura. Silver Vase will continue to service the rest of the West Coast and North America, working closely with Plainview Growers in Pompton Plains, N.J., to meet consumer demand for unique orchids.
