Solar Innovations, a custom manufacturer of commercial and residential greenhouses, has opened a showroom greenhouse in Pine Grove, Pa.
Visitors can visit the new building to see one of Solar’s state-of-the-art structures in operation. Tropical and traditional plants are being grown in the structure.
The newly completed greenhouse is a straight eave, double pitch structure with one gable end that includes awning windows, two ridge vents and two eave vents. The operable ridge and eave vents each have six bays and are controlled by thermostats. It has been equipped with Solar’s extensive line of greenhouse accessories.
With the operational greenhouse now on-site, Solar Innovations will be monitoring the energy usage of the structure and accessories. The company intends to use the greenhouse for passive solar production and storage; the ultimate goal is to use both passive and active solar energy to create a “zero energy” greenhouse structure.
