Sprouts and Sunflower donate $100,000 to Aurora Victim Relief Fund

Large contribution represents proceeds of the sale of excess equipment from Sprouts Farmers Market with Sunflower Farmers Market

Sprouts Farmers Market and Sunflower Farmers Market have donated $100,000 to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund to benefit the immediate and long-term needs of victims of the mass shooting in Aurora, Colo. on July 20, 2012. The large contribution represents proceeds of the sale of excess equipment from Sprouts’ recent merger with Sunflower Farmers Market.

Sprouts Farmers Market has 146 stores throughout eight states in the Southwest. This includes 12 recently acquired Sunflower stores in Colorado, bringing the total number of stores statewide to 21. This increased presence in the state inspired the company to respond by lending a helping hand in a time of need.

The Aurora Victim Relief Fund is administered through the Community First Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides tax incentives for donations as allowed by law. The foundation, which has served the Denver metro area for more than 35 years, is waiving all fees for the administration of this fund.

There are several ways to make a donation to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund. Donators may send a check to: Community First Foundation, 6870 W. 52nd Ave., Suite 103, Arvada, CO, 80002.
