A school in Dalles, Ore. provides a greenhouse for students to garden, eat lunch, and fundraise.
The Dalles Chronicle profiled an elementary school that is using a greenhouse to help teach students. Inside the greenhouse students help tend to plants, transplant plants into and out of the greenhouse, and eat a warm, colorful lunch.
The proverbial fruits of the greenhouse labor is sometimes sold in a fundraiser to benefit the school and its programs. The greenhouse helped raise about $200 through the sale of geraniums and begonias to True Value.
