For the first time, Suntory Flowers has a rooting network for Princettia euphorbias in partnership with Dümmen Group. Princettia has been available as unrooted cuttings, but now growers have a choice of inputs they would like to receive.
The three licensed rooting specialists are: Knox Nursery in Florida, Plantpeddler in Iowa, and Plug Connection in California. This summer, nearly 100 growers received samples of four Princettia varieties from Plantpeddler to trial along with their Christmas production.
In Japan, Australia and Europe, growers and retailers have been successful positioning the vibrant pink varieties with breast cancer awareness promotions in October. A different campaign with the branded toys, Hello Kitty!, was successful in Japan.
Suntory Flowers is offering free tags to promote the brand this season. The same tag can be used for all Princettia varieties. To order tags from John Henry Company, contact Susan Mayhew at 800-804-4164 or sue.mayhew@multipkg.com to receive an order form.
