Karsten Neuffer
Syngenta announced the appointment of Karsten Neuffer as Regional Director for Latin America, effective Dec. 31, 2013. Neuffer, who is currently Global Head of Seed Care, will succeed Antonio Carlos, who is retiring after 14 years with Syngenta.
Guimarães led a business that has more than tripled in size. He also played an important role in the development of the integrated crop strategy in the region. Antonio was instrumental in developing new growth strategies for Latin America and establishing innovative financial risk management practices that set new standards for the industry.
Neuffer will relocate to São Paulo where he lead a region that encompasses important emerging markets, more than 4,000 employees across more than 30 countries and reported sales of $3.7 billion in 2012.
Prior to his current role, Neuffer spent three years as Head of Cereals, and also held the position of Head of Cereals for Syngenta's Europe, Africa and Middle East operations. He was previously Head of Strategy, Planning and New Business Development for the company.
