Syngenta unveils chrysanthemum and aster assortments in 2012 catalog

Syngenta Flowers just announced the publication of its 2012 Mum, Aster and Fleurette catalog. For the first time, the catalog includes the entire Yoder-brand lineup of mums and asters, spanning pot mums and garden mums, as well as asters and Fleurettes.

“We’re very excited to bring this comprehensive new catalog to our customers,” said Liz Hunt, senior market manager for Syngenta Flowers. “Not only does it include new varieties of mums, it also can be used as a resource for variety recommendations, ‘must haves’ for 2012, and tips for identifying and growing mums that will satisfy new marketplace trends.”

Within the catalog, growers will find an assortment of photos and information about the new varieties, including:

• Details on 11 new garden mums, six new pot mums and one new Fleurette.
• Garden Mums: The improved Gigi family has an expanded, vibrant color range that makes it ideal for small containers, color bowls, window boxes and hanging baskets in shaded or natural-season programs.
• Pot Mums: Single-stem pot mums are making a comeback as a premium potted plant with great consumer appeal.
• Fleurettes: For contemporary appeal, the new Sabine Bronze fills the gap for vivid orange-bronze color within the Fleurette category.
• Debut of the “Yoder Select” designation for mums, asters and Fleurettes. Growers can look for the “Yoder Select” icon throughout the catalog to identify high quality varieties they can count on for consistent performance across regions.
• Tips and recommendations for building garden mum and pot mum combination planters.
• Complete and current crop culture.
