Terra Nova Nurseries announced a new heuchera series called Little Cuties. The series features seven new heuchera varieties including Heuchera ‘Blondie’, Heuchera ‘Coco,’ Heuchera ‘Frost,’ Heuchera ‘Ginger Snap,’ Heuchera ‘Peppermint,’ Heuchera ‘Sugar Berry,’ and Heuchera ‘Sweet Tart.’
The series first displayed at the OFA Short Course.
The Little Cuties series features compact varieties that have a strong mounding habit and flowers with a bloom time of May through October. All the plants in the series perform well in full sun, part shade or full shade in Zones 4 to 9. These miniature varieties were bred to showcase an assortment of colors ranging from the caramel foliage of Heuchera ‘Blondie’ and the rosy and tan-brown foliage of Heuchera ‘Ginger Snap’ to the dark burgundy veins of Heuchera ‘Frost’.
As a whole, the series attracts hummingbirds and butterflies, is drought-tolerant, grows well in the Deep South and boasts winter color. Due to their compact size, Little Cuties work well in medium and small containers, rock gardens, mixed beds and front borders.
