From: Terra Nova press release
Terra Nova Nurseries, a plant breeding technology company, recently announced it has hired Nathan Lamkey as director of sales and marketing and assistant general manager, and Steve Flickinger in the role of sales and marketing manager.
In Lamkey’s new position, he will be focusing on sales, marketing and production. Additionally, he will play a significant role in enhancing the company’s global online presence. He also will be increasing communication with company licensees as well as utilizing new sales and marketing tools.
Lamkey comes to Terra Nova Nurseries with horticultural experience, having worked as a product manager at Shemin Landscape Supply where he oversaw the Turf & Ornamental hard lines division. Prior to his time with Shemin, he held the position of sales representative at Ball Horticultural Company, managing the sale of seeds, cuttings and liners to production greenhouses in eastern Michigan. He also worked at PanAmerican Seed where he held the title of assistant breeder, supervising breeder technicians and coordinating breeding efforts.
As the company’s new sales and marketing manager, Flickinger will concentrate upon supervising and directing sales personnel, broker networking, overseeing orders and working directly with Lamkey and the entire Terra Nova Nurseries staff.
Previous experience for Flickinger includes positions as key accounts sales manager at Paul Ecke Ranch; key accounts sales manager at Simple Pleasures Flowerbulbs and Perennials; western region manager at MasterTag; and the role of USA sales manager at Norwood Plastic Printers.
Lamkey’s and Flickinger’s new positions and the general reorganization of Terra Nova Nurseries’ management team also involved the promotion of Scott Christy, former sales manager, to director of horticulture. Christy’s new position was created to allow him to transition into a licensing and technical support role, with the goal of helping licensed propagators and sales representatives in support of the growers they serve.
He will be seeking propagators and growers to educate in the benefits of becoming a Terra Nova Nurseries licensee. He will also spend his time with the company’s Research and Development team and production growers testing and documenting the ways in which new, successful plants are grown.
