Terra Nova Nurseries announced new 2013 “Sneak Peek” introductions, now available to growers: Heuchera ‘Black Taffeta’ and Begonia Shade Angel ‘Aurora’. These new introductions are among many new cultivars the company will be introducing to the marketplace this year..jpg)
The company specifically bred this variety to have silky black foliage with ruffled edges, giving it a more elegant appearance than previous heuchera varieties. Heuchera ‘Black Taffeta’ has good vigor and requires sun to partial shade exposure for optimal growth. With its H. villosa breeding, this new variety is ideal for Zones 4 – 9.
Begonia Shade Angel ‘Aurora’ has the appearance of a Rex begonia, but is an Angelwing begonia. Part of the company’s new Begonia Shade Angel series, this variety has opalescent, pale-celadon green leaves that are highlighted with soft mulberry and silver. ‘Aurora’ is a super-short, multi-branched Angelwing begonia.
