U.S.-based young plant grower ForemostCo mobilizes aid to Guatemala

MIAMI, Florida — Miami, Florida-based young plant grower ForemostCo has mobilized its network to raise funds for the communities affected by the Fuego Volcano eruptions in Guatemala. While their Guatemalan-based farm, Vita Farms, has been spared by the eruption, the surrounding communities have not been as fortunate. Vita Farms’ manager, Luis Pacheco, has been working directly with aid organizations within the country to help those affected. With the death toll currently at 99 and those reported missing at 192, the situation in Guatemala is extremely critica,  according to Sergio Cabañas, the executive secretary of Guatemala's National Coordination for Disaster Reduction.

“Having directly experienced the effects of Guatemala’s Pacaya volcanic explosion in 2010, we know how important aid and support can be,” said Joseph Roberts IX, chief operating officer for ForemostCo. “We are also keenly aware that timeliness of aid distribution is of utmost importance. To that end, we have partnered with the Rotary Club of Miami Airport, Inc. to streamline the fundraising efforts and distribution of aid on the ground.”
