The USDA released the results of their 2012 Pesticide Data recently. The study found that pesticide levels on U.S. crops and plants are at safe levels.
Pesticide Data is collected by the USDA and EPA. The 2012 tests focused on pesticide levels found on fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, wheat, butter, baby food, and water. Samples are collected from 10 participating states.
The USDA started conducting pesticide tests in 1991. The Pesticide Data Program (PDP) has tested over 100 commodities and over 400 different pesticides.
