A workshop on “BMPs for Water Quality and Treatment” is scheduled for Nov. 10 in Homestead, Fla. Hosted by the Water Education Alliance for Horticulture, presentations will be made by industry experts and Univ. of Fla. researchers. Presentations will be made at the Miami-Dade County UF IFAS Extension office in Homestead.
Workshop topics include:
Managing pathogens, algae, biofilm, salt and alkalinity problems in irrigation water.
Irrigating with recaptured water, surface ponds and reclaimed water sources.
Dealing with environmental regulations and incorporating best management practices.
Using new research technologies.
The workshop also includes irrigation tours of Costa Farms in Miami and Living Colors Nursery in Homestead.
