A 30-minute live webinar will be presented on “Nutritional aspects of water quality” by Bill Argo of Blackmore Co. on Jan. 20. It will feature new research and practical guidelines.
The program is co-sponsored by the Water Education Alliance for Horticulture, OFA, Society of American Florists, Horticulture Research Institute, and Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association.
The Alliance is also sponsoring a workshop on “Water Management for Floriculture and Nursery Crops”, Feb. 2-3 in Wilsonville and Aurora, Ore. Attendees will learn how to monitor and manage pathogens, salts and alkalinity problems in irrigation water. Industry and university experts will discuss incorporating best management practices to monitor fertility and irrigation, remediating on-site water using non-chemical treatment methods along with new research and technologies. Included in the workshop is a tour of commercial growers Monrovia and Woodburn Nursery and Azalea. Attendees will also receive a water treatment booklet.
