CropKing's new bolt-down brackets will create a simpler greenhouse construction process. Growers will now be able to pour a flat slab of concrete, attach a bracket to the bottom of their greenhouse sidewall post and bolt it directly to the concrete.
"For the foundation, it uses floating slab technology. In the north, that technology is regularly used to build a garage on unheated spaces. In the south, practically all houses are built on a flat slab of concrete. We're using that same philosophy," says Steve Froelich, a consultant for CropKing.
Traditionally, growers have been forced to pour a plug of concrete around their greenhouse sidewall post. This technology will alleviate that need and remove the bending that takes place when the post enters the concrete.
