Back by popular demand, Terra Nova Nurseries announced the reintroduction of Tolmiea ‘Cool Gold’, now available for liner orders to growers. This variety will become available to garden centers during the coming months. Tolmiea ‘Cool Gold’ has soft, clear gold foliage that does not splotch or revert in color, making it ideal as a bright spot for shade borders or mixed beds. In the spring, this variety produces small maroon flowers for added interest. To aid its fast-growing, clumping habit, ‘Cool Gold’ requires fertile and moist soils in partial to full shade for optimal performance. The average size of this variety is 12 inches high and 14 inches wide with an 18” Flower Height, and it grows well in zones 6 – 9.
